Whatsapp will be used even if the cellphone is not connected to the internet

MIFANS.XYZ - WhatsApp is trying to free users from smartphones. This is through the latest features that are prepared, namely the Multi-device feature.

In a blog post on Wednesday (13/7/2021), Facebook engineers said the new feature would allow WhatsApp to use multiple non-mobile devices without the need to connect to an app on a smartphone.

"With this new capability, you can now use WhatsApp on your phone and up to four other non-phone devices at the same time even if your phone's battery dies," they wrote in the blog.

Actually, currently, users can connect their accounts on companion devices such as the web version. But when the phone is not connected to the internet or the battery runs out, it can no longer be used on other devices.

Facebook says with Multidevice can eliminate the problem of the connection between the phone and other devices.

"WhatsApp's new multi-device architecture removes this hurdle by no longer needing a smartphone to perform every operation," the company said. Facebook also said the new capabilities would be expanded even further.

In addition, the company also guarantees that security measures will continue to work under the new system. According to Facebook, companion devices will connect with WhatsApp independently and can maintain a level of privacy and security.

Facebook stated that privacy and security will be maintained through end-to-end encryption, a technology that has been in WhatsApp for a long time.

"Each companion device will connect to your WhatsApp independently while maintaining the same level of privacy and security through end-to-end encryption that people who use WhatsApp expect," the company said.
